David Webley

David is the founder and managing director of the Granite Consulting Group, which encompasses Granite Consulting, Granite Data Solutions, Conversations with Thought Leaders and Nurture Drive. The core business is Business Projects and Technology Recruitment and Consulting. Granite Consulting has been in business since 2008 when it opened it’s Melbourne HQ in the midst of the GFC. It quickly grew and was recognised as the 3rd fastest growing business in Australia in the BRW awards and has since expanded across the globe with an additional office in the UK providing global reach and insights. Granite Consulting currently has clients in 8 countries across North America, UK, Europe, Asia and Australia where our key focus remain. Granite Consulting is a proudly Australian owned and operated business.

Upon graduating in 1997 David joined a professional services firm in the UK and discovered his love for the industry and helping organisations and people grow together. He is passionate about helping people realise their potential, driving intrinsic connection and firmly believes great companies are nothing without great people. 

In 2005 David relocated with his partner to Australia leading a start up professional services business for well known industry leaders Morgan and Banks. Having started businesses for other stakeholders both in the UK and Australia he decided to launch Granite in 2008. Over nearly 15 years Granite Consulting has become a trusted, innovative and respected business in the community. Granite Consulting have built an experienced team over many years focussed on delivering value every day. Granite Consulting values its team greatly and has a track record of developing people and promoting from within. David leads the business every day and loves spending time with clients helping them attract, engage and retain the right talent. He is considered in the industry and expert on talent, learning and high performance. David also serves on the advisory board of a HR technology L&D provider and is passionate about sharing his experiences to help other flourish.

During the pandemic David launched ‘Conversations with Thought Leaders’, a podcast, live webinar chat show to connect the Granite Consulting community with experts from across the world. Membership of this group is now several thousand. In 2023 David decided to progress back to smaller in person events whilst producing video content of the sessions to share with the broader community. Human to human connection is something we believe people value.

Outside of business David is married with 2 daughters, he has a passion for exercise and sport in the community (coaching both daughters basketball and soccer teams) and also loves food, travel, reading, listening to podcasts to learn and collecting vinyl.
