Calvin joined the Granite team in 2024, originally from just outside Leicester, UK, Calvin has always had a taste for adventure. At 17, he joined the Army, where he gained valuable life skills before transitioning into managerial roles in call centres. As the years went by, Calvin felt the pull of new experiences, so he traded in the grey skies of the UK for the southern hemisphere in 2016.

He spent time in Melbourne and St Kilda, soaking up the vibrant energy of the city, and even did some banana farm work in Queensland before exploring New Zealand for four years. His time in Wellington was both challenging and rewarding but in 2021, he returned to Australia to focus on his studies, completing a qualification in IT at Victoria University. Although Calvin's education was focused on technology, his professional journey has kept him in recruitment, blending his love for connecting with people and his growing interest in data-driven decision-making.

Outside of work, fitness is Calvin's focus, whether he is at the gym, running or working through a back injury rehab. He also loves experimenting in the kitchen, trying out new recipes and meal prepping. When he is not getting creative with food, you’ll find Calvin discovering Melbourne’s bars and restaurants or unwinding at the beach with his partner. Calvin enjoys good food, movies, and exploring new spots in his free time.

A huge fan of endurance challenges, Calvin has run a 100km ultramarathon for charity, completed multiple triathlons and ultramarathons, and pushed his body through events like running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. He is currently focusing on rehabbing his back to get back to a consistent training routine and possibly taking on a powerlifting or strongman competition.
