Sam Jenkins is an experienced sales and business professional with a strong background with an extensive global background providing innovative technology driven talent solutions. Sam clearly understands and identify clients’ talent requirements and is able to foster strong connections with candidates. Alongside this, Sam is deeply engaged in the technology community in Australia, helping organisations attract and retain great talent to help achieve competitive advantage and provide exceptional return on investment.
 
After graduating with a Business Management degree from the UK, Sam initially worked in the USA building community sports programs, which was very much a passion project and something he wanted to give back to the community. After immigrating to Australia, he started a career with technology within the Renewable Energy sector. He held numerous roles there, including Head of Sales Strategy and Operations.
 
At Granite Consulting Sam has been leading our Software Development and Engineering team. He has a strong ability to get to know candidates on a personal level and understand not only their needs within the workspace but to understand their goals and aspirations outside of work as well. Sam nurtures intrinsic motivating factors as well as extrinsic ones. He has gained a reputation as a trusted source for talent from his clients. With a strong leadership background, Sam has also been able to train, mentor and upskill new consultants in the Software Development space.
 
Community engagement within the technology sector in Australia is something Sam is extremely passionate about. He loves regularly hosts professional development events under Granite’s Conversation with Thought Leaders banner. Sam also leads our Granite Active program which engages our community through exercise to support mental and physical wellbeing.
 
Whilst Sam has a keen eye for leading and engaging candidates, his real strength is in creating meaningful and lasting relationships. He enjoys being out of the office meeting candidates and clients alike and getting to know them on a personal level, which helps him not only source strong talent but retain it. He has a strong ability to constantly follow up and touch base with his contacts, allowing him to be fully across situations in real time.
 
Outside of work, Sam is a sport fanatic (both playing and coaching) and enjoys the Melbourne lifestyle of good food, live music and live sporting events.
