As the Medical Device Integration Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in configuring, testing, and deploying medical device connections across hospital labs, ensuring seamless and secure communication between instruments, middleware, and the SLIS. You’ll liaise with vendors, IT teams, and clinical stakeholders to ensure integrations are delivered to specification, on time, and with minimal risk to operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and configure medical device integrations within project timelines
- Conduct System Integration Testing (SIT) and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Configure and support Cerner Millennium PathNet integrations
- Liaise with medical device and middleware vendors for interface setup and testing
- Support Go-Live activities and provide post-implementation support during the hypercare period
- Collaborate closely with pathology, infrastructure, and digital teams
- Participate in workshops and solution design sessions
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to medical device interfaces and data flows
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or related field
- At least 4 years’ experience in hospital or medical device integration projects
- Proficiency with Rhapsody Integration Engine and HL7 standards
- Experience with ASTM protocols, JavaScript, SQL, and networking (TCP/IP, firewalls)
- Familiarity with Cerner Millennium and pathology middleware systems (desirable)
- Ability to read interface design documents and translate them into functional integrations
- Excellent communication skills, stakeholder engagement, and technical problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously under project deadlines
